What ROOTED Is

ROOTED is a prevention-centered program for middle and high school girls who may be at increased risk of abuse, exploitation, or emotional distress. The program focuses on building protective factors early by helping girls strengthen their sense of self, recognize unhealthy patterns, and develop the skills they need to navigate challenges safely.

Why ROOTED Matters

Many girls face vulnerabilities long before harm is visible. Without early, supportive intervention, those risks can escalate into crisis. ROOTED addresses the root causes of vulnerability by offering connection, education, and empowerment before intervention becomes necessary.

How ROOTED Helps

Through trauma-informed activities, mentorship, and relationship-building, ROOTED helps girls:

  • Build confidence and self-worth.

  • Strengthen boundaries and decision-making skills.

  • Identify red flags and unsafe situations.

  • Develop healthy coping tools and peer support.

  • Feel seen, supported, and capable.
