Monarch is the place for you if…

  • You believe in addressing risk early and empowering girls and young women with the tools, confidence, and support they need before harm occurs.

  • Whether your experience is recent or long past, you’re looking for trauma-informed spaces that honor your story, respect your autonomy, and meet you where you are.

  • You value programs that don’t require you to “have it all together,” but instead offer safety, flexibility, and care without judgment.

  • You believe collective healing matters and want to be part of building safer, more empowered futures, whether as a participant, volunteer, or supporter.

  • You recognize the importance of tending to your own emotional health so you can continue showing up sustainably for the people you serve.

  • You’re looking for connection, belonging, and purpose, knowing that growth happens best when we don’t walk alone.

Our Mission

To empower women and girls to ROOT, RISE, and THRIVE by cultivating protective factors, supporting survivors on their healing journey, and fostering personal growth, igniting lasting change.

Healing

Healing is not one-size-fits-all. We provide safe, restorative spaces where survivors can process trauma, reconnect with their bodies, and rediscover their sense of self. Through trauma-informed classes, coaching, and community connections, we support women as they move from surviving to thriving, at their own pace and on their own terms.

Prevention

We focus on reducing risk before harm occurs by equipping girls and young women with the tools, confidence, and support they need to stay safe. Through early intervention, skill-building, and protective relationships, our prevention program addresses vulnerability at the root, helping individuals recognize red flags, strengthen boundaries, and build resilience before a crisis.

Awareness

Awareness creates action. We work to shine a light on issues impacting women and girls, such as sexual violence, domestic violence, and generational poverty, while breaking stigma and encouraging community responsibility. Through advocacy, storytelling, and outreach, we help communities see the need and become part of the solution.

Community

Healing and prevention are strongest when people don’t have to walk alone. We intentionally build spaces for connection, belonging, and shared growth, bringing survivors, volunteers, professionals, and supporters together to foster safety, empowerment, and long-term support beyond any single program.

  • "I was really feeling alone and not seen after leaving an abusive relationship. My therapist suggested I try the DV survivor support group. I left feeling very seen and heard and validated."

  • "I love everything Monarch 61 stands for and support you fully. I hope that one day I can give more, but for the moment I’m just grateful that this resource exists in our community. I’ve learned things at Monarch 61 as an adult that I wish I could have had access to as a teenager. You’re doing a great job!"

  • "A change I’ve noticed in myself this year is that I’m more aware of myself and the reactions my body is physically having. That awareness and ability to identify the feeling and sometimes even why it’s happening has been transformative and I learned many of those awareness techniques through programming at Monarch 61."
