Volunteer Vibe Check

Belonging + Purpose

Our volunteer structure is designed to meet people where they are and invite them into meaningful work that aligns with their strengths and passions. Volunteers are organized into “Houses,” each focused on a core area of our mission and guided by volunteer leaders who help create supportive, connected teams. Whether you’re behind the scenes or front and center, you’ll be encouraged to serve in ways that fit your skills, availability, and season of life, while growing alongside others who share a heart for healing, prevention, and empowered community.

Volunteer Vibe Check

Volunteers are the heartbeat of Monarch 61. Their time, skills, and compassion allow us to offer trauma-informed, prevention, and healing programs at no cost to the women and girls we serve. More than support, our volunteers extend safety, creativity, confidence, connection, and voice into every space we hold, making our mission possible and our community stronger.

Welcome to Our Community

The Volunteer Journey

Volunteering at Monarch 61 is more than filling a role; it’s stepping into a supported community of growth. Our volunteer positions are intentionally designed with mentorship and leadership at their core, offering guidance, encouragement, and opportunities to develop new skills along the way. Whether you’re serving behind the scenes or leading alongside others, you’ll be supported by experienced volunteers and staff who help you grow with confidence, clarity, and purpose as you serve.

Volunteer Positions

Women can choose to step into leadership roles or stay in non-leadership positions; both are equally valued. You have full control over your journey here.

EMBER

An Ember is a new or prospective volunteer who has expressed interest in joining our mission. Embers are in the early stages of their journey with us and are not yet assigned to a House. They spend this initial period observing, learning, and completing the necessary training to build a strong foundation for deeper involvement.

FLAME

A Flame is an experienced volunteer who mentors Sparks by providing guidance, encouragement, and opportunities for growth. As a trusted leader within her House, a Flame is confident leading small projects or classes and plays a key role in cultivating a strong, supportive environment for developing volunteers.

SPARK

A Spark is a developing volunteer who has completed RUSH, received House placement, and been paired with a Flame for mentorship. Sparks are in a growth-focused phase, building confidence, gaining hands-on experience, and deepening their understanding of the organization’s mission through active participation.

Legacy

A Legacy is a senior volunteer who provides leadership over an entire house. As a model of resilience, transformation, and trauma-informed leadership, she fosters a healthy mentorship environment, facilitates House gatherings, ensures accountability, and supports the strategic direction of volunteer efforts.

RUSH TO THRIVE

What Is It?

Rush to Thrive is our annual volunteer retreat and recruitment event! This special gathering is designed not only to strengthen our volunteers' connection to one another and to our mission, but also to celebrate shehood and have fun together as women.

We’re proud to foster a strong, supportive community for the women we serve every day and now, we’re creating space for our volunteers to experience the same connection, care, and sense of belonging.

Even the simplest tasks become enjoyable when surrounded by a supportive group of women.

What Happens During Rush to Thrive?

Connection + Community: A dedicated time for volunteers who’ve joined throughout the year to build meaningful relationships with the whole team.

House Placement: Discover where you belong within our five volunteer houses and begin forming bonds with your new circle.

Retreat + Reflection: Enjoy a restorative, retreat-style experience focused on self-love, rest, and personal growth.

Support Network: Make sure every woman involved with Monarch 61 feels grounded in a strong, supportive community.
